How Touch Mapping Works
Wihaister maps touch gestures from your client device onto mouse actions on the workstation. This lets you drive the remote desktop naturally from a touchscreen — for example from a tablet or a touch laptop.
Touch input travels through the same encrypted tunnel as keyboard and mouse input, and is active whenever the remote desktop session is running.
Common Gestures
- Tap — a mouse click at the tapped position
- Drag — press-and-move, forwarded as a mouse drag (used for selecting text, moving windows, and drawing)
- Scroll — swiping with a scrolling gesture sends scroll events
The exact gesture set available depends on your client. Touch interaction is designed to work together with the on-screen keyboard of your device.
Combining Touch and Keyboard
When your device shows an on-screen keyboard, its keystrokes are forwarded to the workstation just like physical keyboard input. You can type into text fields and terminals using touch for navigation and the on-screen keyboard for text.
